Ventura County Board of Supervisors to Honor Hams

The Ventura County Board of Supervisors will honor the county’s Amateur Operators and present a proclamation designating June as “Amateur Radio Month in Ventura County” at their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 4 at 10 a.m.

All available Ventura County Amateur Radio Operators are encouraged to attend the event to be held in the county office building, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.

This is an excellent opportunity not only for operators to be recognized for their readiness to serve the county when needed but also to invite the Supervisors and staff members to attend one or more of the Field Day locations that will be operating during the weekend of June 22-23.

President’s Message

I can’t believe it’s already May!  Another year is flying by.

Thanks to club VP Brett Price-KM6VFW for running the meeting last month, while I was back east with my family for Spring Break, and for filling in again at this month’s meeting, which I’ll miss because of a school event. I look forward to seeing you all very soon, but I know things are in good hands.

You’ve probably noticed that the club is growing.  Every month we’re adding new members.  With so many new members, the Board thought it might be time for a few reminders about how to get more out of the club and our website.

Morse Keys for Loan

Hello Fellow CW Enthusiasts,

These keys are available for CW group members or CVARC members.  The top key is a “coffin key” bug, the others are Signal Electric models R62 and R63.

The keys are not for sale and not intended for resale, they are available for long time use.  CW group members or CVARC members are encouraged to put these keys to use and get on the air.  Let’s get them into the hands of someone who needs them.

I will be at the club meeting tomorrow (5-16-19) and can meet there with anyone interested.

Regards,
