2023 CVARC ARRL Field Day

CVARC’s Field Day returns for a third years at the Sherwood Development Company’s field, aka “Dicken’s Patch.” The site is located at 373 West Potrero Road, Westlake Village. The event runs from Saturday June 24 at 11:00 A.M. to Sunday June 25th at 11:00 A.M. Setup begins at noon on Friday June 23rd.

We’ll have the large tents from Ventura County OES, the Saturday night barbecue, and the incredible “mile-o-dipoles” antenna array. The on-line spreadsheet for signing up for various volunteer jobs and band captains is:

Call (805-208-5655) or email Keith Elliott-W6KME (keith@w6kme.org) for more information or to sign up. There are still openings for several band captains. A band captain is responsible for getting a rig set up for the weekend (the club even has several extra sets that a captain can claim), and helping people use the station during the event. If they use it themselves, it is even better!

Reservations and prepayment are needed for the barbecue. There are several options.  You may pay at either the May or June club meetings. Or you can mail your check for $20.00/per person to:

Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club

PO Box 2093

Thousand Oaks, CA 91358-2093

Please write BBQ in the memo line.

Or -if you have the Venmo app on your smart phone you can send a payment directly to CVARC.  Just direct the payment to (Treasurer) Christian Ylagan @kd6dwt – and the no-fee transaction will go directly into CVARC’s bank account. Christian can also accept Zelle payments using his cell phone number 323-497-3035.

There are Zoom planning meetings taking place every Wednesday at 8:00 P.M. until Field Day, to deal with questions, answers, and anything else we need to talk about. Anyone is welcome to drop in.
