President’s Message

I can’t believe it’s already May!  Another year is flying by.

Thanks to club VP Brett Price-KM6VFW for running the meeting last month, while I was back east with my family for Spring Break, and for filling in again at this month’s meeting, which I’ll miss because of a school event. I look forward to seeing you all very soon, but I know things are in good hands.

You’ve probably noticed that the club is growing.  Every month we’re adding new members.  With so many new members, the Board thought it might be time for a few reminders about how to get more out of the club and our website.

Wanted: Communications Systems Coordinator

I am reaching out to local radio folks to see if they know of anyone interested in my job.  I am the City of Simi Valley Communications Systems Coordinator and manage our $6.5 million UHF simulcast P25 system radio system with 5 sites and some 300 portables and 300 mobiles.  I am a temporary employee that was called out of retirement earlier this year to fill the position until we find a permanent replacement.  The job flyer is attached if you could forward it to anyone CVARC members who might be interested in the job.  Total compensation, salary and benefits, is about $155,000 a year.

Thanks in advance,

Morse Keys for Loan

Hello Fellow CW Enthusiasts,

These keys are available for CW group members or CVARC members.  The top key is a “coffin key” bug, the others are Signal Electric models R62 and R63.

The keys are not for sale and not intended for resale, they are available for long time use.  CW group members or CVARC members are encouraged to put these keys to use and get on the air.  Let’s get them into the hands of someone who needs them.

I will be at the club meeting tomorrow (5-16-19) and can meet there with anyone interested.

Regards,

Norm-AB6ET

It’s Time to Renew Your CVARC Membership

For most CVARC members, May is the time to renew your membership, unless you had paid for multiple years. Individual membership dues are $20. This will cover you until May 2020. A family membership is $25 per year. Multi-year memberships (two years or more) are $16 per year.

We hope you are finding that CVARC meets your interests and needs.   We’re working hard to put together interesting speakers and programs as well as a variety of operating and social events.

You can pay your dues at the club meeting with cash, check or credit card, or send your check to:

Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club
