CVARC Newbie Net

The CVARC Newbie Net is held on Sunday nights at 7:00 P.M. on the BOZO Repeater, 147.885 (- offset, 127.3). This is an opportunity for newly licensed hams to get on the air, ask questions, and get advice from more experienced hams.

The Newbie Net is designed for:

•              Newly licensed amateurs

•              Hams returning to the hobby after a break

•              Elmers and those who have been around awhile who want to help answer questions

Besides helping new hams get comfortable talking on the radio, the Newbie Net offers an opportunity for new operators to take a turn as Net Control in a relaxed and forgiving environment. Serving as Net Control is fun and easy to do. Operators work from a script:

The Newbie Net is all about becoming a comfortable operator in the hobby we love. Eric Fitzgerald-KG6MZS called it being a “Smooth Operator:”

The Newbie Net helps new hams to become confident FM/VHF operators:

Above all, the Newbie Net is about fellowship and camaraderie. Feel free to share the CVARC Newbie Net flyer with any hams you think might be interested in joining us!
