Technician License Course Begins March 27

Zak Cohen-N6PK, is teaching our annual Amateur Radio License Course, Technician’s Level for 2021. This is the license that is the gateway to the entire amateur radio universe! You’ll also have a chance to meet various members of CVARC and be invited to our other activites. The dates will be:

Orientation: Saturday, March 27th, 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Course: Saturdays, April 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th, 8:00 A.M. to Noon

Register for the class by emailing CVARC’s Education Director Keith Elliott-W6KME at W6KME@CVARC.org.

There is no fee for the course, but a book must be obtained by the student at least a week before the course begins. We are using the “ARRL Ham Radio License Manual” Fourth Edition, Technician Level. Be sure to obtain your manual before the orientation when the first reading assignment will be given. You don’t even need to own a radio yet!

Here are two links to the manual: from the ARRL and from Amazon.
Many other booksellers offer the book, just be sure it’s the correct edition and level.

Due to Covid, the class will be held via Zoom meetings:
Meeting ID: 951 7955 7839 Passcode: 024085

CVARC is not able to offer in-person testing at this time, so Andy Ludlum-K6AGL will be on hand to show how to find and take the FCC exam online.
