Due to the restrictions on gatherings due to COVID-19, CVARC is not able to conduct in-person license exam sessions at the East County Sheriff’s Station in Thousand Oaks. When we have access again to the Community Room, we will make procedural changes and develop the safety protocols necessary to protect both the VEs and examinees. We cannot predict when we will be able to have anything like a “normal” VE session.
Fortunately, there is a particularly good remote testing system in place. Using the Exam Tools software, teams from the GLAARG, W5YI and ARRL VECs have conducted thousands of fully remote exams. The sessions are administered using Zoom. Please read this information carefully if you are interested in taking a remote exam.
You can sign up for any available remote testing session. A listing can be found at https://ham.study/sessions/online.
While the CVARC VE team continues to explore other testing options, we believe the online testing program will assist you getting a new license or upgrade in a timely manner.
