Silent Key Picnic

The BORED Net is hosting the Silent Key Picnic on October 9th at 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. This will be held at N6XEW-Ed Zimmermann’s house in Newbury Park (contact Keith or Ed for the address). The SK picnic gives us all a chance to enjoy the memory of members of our community and hobby who have passed away in recent years, as well as those who have been gone longer. Every ham has an impact on the local community, and the community takes its shape from all those operators, and when one is lost it influences all of us, even those who may not have been close to the person. We’ll have a special net calling the hams who have been lost since our last SK picnic. The picnic gives us all the chance to remember those giants whose shoulders we’re standing on. And of course, of you want to bring your portable radio setups, do so! Ed and Keith Elliott will provide charcoal on the barbecues and plenty of ice.  Bring whatever you want to eat and we’ll cook it up for you.
