Topic – The Nano-VNA: What is it, what does it do, and why do you want one? Warren Wegerer-K6WKW will introduce the Nano-VNA. This little tool is versatile and surprising. Some practical examples will be provided.

Topic – Educating Hams: Keith Elliott-W6KME, CVARC’s Education Director previews some exciting new additions to the club’s education program including the Saturday Morning Radio School, a series of short presentations of interest not only to new hams, but also to experienced hams wanting to learn more about new mode or technique.

Topic – New Battery Technology: Kevin Zanjani of Bioenno Power of Santa Ana will tell us about state-of-the-art LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate-LiFePO4) batteries which are safer, longer lasting and more efficient than the batteries we have been used in the past. These batteries work well with small solar panels and are popular with hams for remote and Field Day use.

Topic – 3-D Printing for Ham Radio: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have your very own sci-fi matter replicator? Nathan Eng-KN6ISM, will introduce us to the wonderful world of at-home 3D printing. He will cover getting started with filament-based printers and explore what they can (and can’t) do for you through an assortment of ham radio-related examples.

Topic – Making Sense of DMR:  Some hams find DMR intimidating. Adrian Jarrett-K6KY will give us an introduction to DMR, explain what we need to get started, cut through the jargon and help us understand code plugs and other programming considerations.

Topic – FT-8, FT-4: Zak Cohen-N6PK looks at the origination of the digital modes FT65, FT8 and FT4 and then moves on to basic configuration and operational settings. The presentation also covers different ways to operate and leverage radio and program settings while working the bands.
