Topic – QRP Antennas: George Zafiropoulos, KJ6VU, is the co-host of one of the most popular ham radio podcasts, the Ham Radio Workbench. George has a passion for ultralight, portable QRP antennas. He was instrumental in creating light weight, compact, portable HF antenna systems known as the PackTenna, ideal for operating on the trail, at the campsite, on Field Day, SOTA activation, or HOA restricted locations.

Topic – Raspberry Pi For Ham Radio: Jason Oleham-KM4ACK is a fan of the Raspberry Pi – that amazing open-source, single-board computer that’s being incorporated in many ham projects. Jason has found the Pi’s size and weight make it ideal for use in portable operation needed for his ham radio passion, emergency communication.

Topic – How to Work Amateur Satellites With Your HT: Clint Bradford-K6LCS will explain how you do not need 100W of transmit power or expensive antenna arrays to work the FM amateur satellites. Many hams already have the necessary equipment to “work the birds.” His presentation will walk you through A the steps needed to successfully work several ham satellites.

Topic – Educating Hams: Keith Elliott-W6KME, CVARC’s Education Director previews some exciting new additions to the club’s education program including the Saturday Morning Radio School, a series of short presentations of interest not only to new hams, but also to experienced hams wanting to learn more about new mode or technique.

Topic – New Battery Technology: Kevin Zanjani of Bioenno Power of Santa Ana will tell us about state-of-the-art LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate-LiFePO4) batteries which are safer, longer lasting and more efficient than the batteries we have been used in the past. These batteries work well with small solar panels and are popular with hams for remote and Field Day use.

Topic – 3-D Printing for Ham Radio: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have your very own sci-fi matter replicator? Nathan Eng-KN6ISM, will introduce us to the wonderful world of at-home 3D printing. He will cover getting started with filament-based printers and explore what they can (and can’t) do for you through an assortment of ham radio-related examples.
