ARES/RACES is a group of radio amateurs dedicated to providing public service and emergency communications, and is a vehicle of the American Radio Relay League, field sevices…… Membership in the ARRL is not required…….
This is a check-in net for the Main Ventura County Net. If you are not able to stay through the local Area 2 net or you are mobile and about to lose the repeater, please indicate that you are checking in-and-out.
We suggest that you please remain with us as there is usually important information to follow……..
In the event of an emergency, all unaffected ARES/RACES members will remain away from that incident and check in with the local Net Control Station on the BOZO repeater 147.885, down 600, with a PL of 127.3.
Reporting Member stations will indicate to the local NCS as to their availability during the crisis period. If a net is not in progress, then one should be started. The NCS will take names, call signs and availability information for later reporting to the Emergency Coordinator for the incident.
This repeater has battery backup, but, in the event of a power failure and the repeater is unusable, please tune your radio to the output frequency of 147.885 and operate in the simplex mode.
