Helpful Information About Zoom

There is no charge for the CVARC meeting on Zoom nor is a Zoom account required to join the meeting. Anyone can join a meeting using the Zoom mobile apps (iOS, Android) or desktop applications for Windows, Mac and Linux.

To use Zoom you will need a video camera, either built into your device or a separate webcam (most modern computers, smartphones and tablets have this built in) and the Zoom client installed on your machine. (Zoom has clients for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.)

For computer audio, you must have a working microphone, such as the built-in microphone, a USB microphone or an inline microphone on a headset or headphones. Click “Join Audio by Computer” to connect your computer’s speaker and microphone to the Zoom Meeting.

You can join a Zoom meeting via teleconferencing/audio conferencing (using a traditional phone). This is useful if you do not have a microphone or speaker on your PC/Mac or you do not have a smartphone (iOS or Android).

You might want to give Zoom a trial run before the meeting.   Brad Ormsby-W6VO has been hosting Zoom chats a couple of times a week.  Details are announced on the daily informal nets on the Bozo repeater.

Login credentials for the April 16th meeting are listed above.   You should be able to click on the url and connect to the meeting.  If you are having trouble doing that:
