We had a great turnout at the Picnic and Mini T-Hunt yesterday. Thanks to Bill Willcox-KF6JQO for making the arrangements, Diane Wainwood-KJ6JEJ for organizing the potluck, Mike Felio-K6MJF for doing an amazing job with the BBQ, and Norm Goodkin-K6YXH for supplying the transmitter and running the t-hunt. It was great to see so many members using their Yagi antennas. I know many people had success in finding the transmitter, although it wasn’t easy. It sounds like people enjoyed the hunt. I hope we can make this an annual event. I posted some photos from the picnic yesterday. Be sure to look for those.
In other news, CVARC will soon be placing an order for embroidered polo shirts. The shirts are navy, and each is embroidered with the CVARC logo and a call sign. Shirts are $32.50 for S, M and L; $35.50 for XL and larger. The September club meeting is the deadline to order. You can order and pay at the club meeting or send payment to PO Box 2093, Thousand Oaks, CA 91358. Please remember to include the size and your call sign.
Also, with 2019 winding down, it’s time to start thinking about the 2020 Board of Directors. Many current Board members are willing to stay on in their current roles or move into another Board position, but all club members are free to run for any position. If you’d like to run for any Board position, please email us and let us know which position. The Candidates for each Board position will be presented to the club at the October club meeting, although any additional nominations will be accepted right up to the vote at the November club meeting. We’ll be posting information about the various Board positions shortly.
