Volunteers Needed for School Science Night Event

Bill Willcox-KF6JQO is looking for a few CVARC members to help him at a Science Night event, 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20th at Walnut Canyon Elementary School, located at 280 Casey Road in Moorpark.

Check-in will be at the school office about 1600. The event is from 1800-2000. We’ll be located in the kindergarten classroom which has a play yard outside for our antennas. Set up will be from 1630-1800.  Tear down is from 2000 until we are done.

We’ll be showing the kids:

An HF station with antennas (Bill has a 6-20m multi-band but could use a 40m dipole as the 20m band may be dead.)

A handheld VHF/UHF transceiver (If somebody wants to bring an outdoor antenna and feed line that would be great!)

Can anyone bring a morse code practice buzzer?

We also need off-site folks on the local repeaters or line of sight to the school to talk to students.

If you are interested, please contact Bill Willcox (william_willcox@pacbell.net) or 805 304-4732.
